Yuvrajβs POV
βAnya taiyaar ho gayi kya?β I called out to her from outside the wardrobe.
(Anya, are you ready?)
βAndar aaiye na Raj.β She replied
(Come inside, Raj.)Β
βKyu kya hua?β I asked softly while she replied, slightly irritated from my insistence, for the reason βAaiye na yeh blouse ki dori baand ne mai madat chahiye.β
(Why what happened?) (Please come in. I need help tying the strings.)
I opened the walk-in closetβs door and walked in.
She was standing with her back turned towards me, her milky skin exposed to me.
I reached up to her in a few quick strides from the door and walked towards her as she was struggling to tie the lace.
I gently took both the strands from her and pulled her against my chest. She gasped softly, βKya kar rahe hai, Yuvraj?β She asked, blushing slightly as I turned her around so that her front pressed against my chest.
(What are you doing, Yuvraj?)
βI am helping you, princess,β I said in my velvetly voice while teasing her with my touch on her back as my fingers lingered a moment even after tying the lace.
I leaned down, placing a small peck on her nose and then pulled back. βHo gayaβ¦β
(Done?)
She whined softly at the loss of warmth of my touch making me smile.
βBataiye Raj kaisi lag rahi hu?β She asked softly.
(So Raj, how am I looking?)
My gaze landed on the perfectly plated red saree with heavy embroidery work, her hands still stained dark with mehendi, and the set of wedding bangles clinking against her wrists.
A bold statement gold necklace was adorned on her neck along with a mangtika and earrings on her ears and forehead.
Her hair was tied into a neat bun except for two strands falling beautifully on her face. Roses and Jasmines bordered her bun.
βBahot khubsurat lag rahi hoβ¦ bilkul jaise chand khud zameen par utar aaya ho,β I said, still dazed by the beauty I closely observed.
(You are looking very pretty⦠as if the moon has stepped on the land.)
A light pinkish blush formed over her cheeks, making her look tenfold better.

Authorβs POV
Yuvraj and Aaranya walked down from the staircase to the main hall where the event was being held.
Yuvraj straightened her stark navy blue coloured coat and his other hand pulled Aaranya closer by her waist.
A quiet declaration clearly visible in his actions.
He didnβt looked the soft guy he was in front of Aaranya and neither held the warmth he had in front of his family.
He was cold and ruthless here in the crowd of people.
His father announced their marriage and with a toast to the couple they began the party.
Yuvraj and Aaranya sat on stage while the guests came, greeted them, and gave them gifts as a token of congratulations.
Meanwhile, in another corner Aaliya and Yudveer were holding hands.
βYudhveer ji aap kal chale jaayenge wapis Harayana?β She asked softly with a pout.
(Yudhveer you will go back to Haryana tomorrow?)
He patted her cheek lovingly while his gaze held the softness no one ever saw.
βHaan ji Aaliya ji, jana toh padega.β He said while handing her a drink he had taken from a waiter nearby.
(Yes Aaliya I need to go.)
She took the drink from him, the pout still on her lips showing she was clearly not happy with this.
βAap bhul na jaiyega hame.β She said while he looked at her softly βAadat ban chuki hai aap aur aapki yeh billi aankhe hamari, ab aapko bhulna mumkin nahi hai.β He said holding a sheer dedication.
(Donβt forget me) (You and your cat eyes have became my habit now and its not possible to forget you.)
The pout on her face softened into a smile. βAap bhi naβ¦β She said clearly affected.
(Youβ¦)
Just then Yuvrajβs kaka sa called out Yudhveer βBeta bagal wale kamre mai jaakar who kalash le aana.β
(Son please bring that pot from the room in the corner.)
He nodded βJi kaka abhi aaya.β He said while quickly getting into action and walking towards the room.
(Yes uncle ill just bring that.)
Aaliya followed him.
Inside the room there were two pots kept, one of brass and another one was made up of normal metal.
Yudhveer looked confused for a second. βKonsa wala mangwaya hai?β He muttered under his breathe.
(Which one did they ask for?)
Aaranya chirped βBrass wala hai. Le chalte hai.β She said while he objected βNahi yeh steel wala mangwaya hoga.β
(Itβs the brass one. Letβs take it.)(No, Its probably the steel one.)
βArey steel ka saman puja mai nahi lagta.β She said not pleased with his objection.
(Steel is not used in temples.)
Before he could retort back she got up on the bed and threw the pillow on him.
βAccha ji ab mohtarma mujhe maaregi.β He challenged picking up the pillow and getting up on the bed.
(Ohh so now lady would hit me.)
She picked up another pillow from the bed and looked at him βHaan ji yeh billi aankhe wali srif aankhe hi nahi dikhati, maarti bhi haiβ She said and then her voice dropped slightly as she added βAur kaat ti bhi hai.β
(Yes this cat eyed lady doesnβt just shows eyes, she hits too.)(And bites)
He laughed striking the pillow gently against her waist.
She looked up at him with a glare as she hit him hard with the pillow on his chest. He mocked a wince and then laughed.
Minutes passed as they continued to fight with no real heat and then they heard a creak.
Before they could notice or process it the bed broke.
Yudhveer pulled Aaliya off the bed along with him as they looked at the bed. Now completely messed up, pillow torn and the bed broken.
βHey bhagwanβ¦β Aaliya muttered while laughing.
(Oh Godβ¦)
Yudhveer laughed along.
βChalo dono kalash le jaate hai, aur jaldi chalte hai nahi toh pata nahi koi kya sochega.β He said and she nodded as they picked up both the utensils and walked out of the room.
(Letβs take both the pots, and leave fast or else who knows what everyone will think.)
Aryan walked into the room while Rudra followed him, their gaze fell on the bed and then they looked outside at Yudhveer and Aaliyaβs retreating figure.
Their thoughtβs swirled to the actions that might have probably taken place in this room.
βChiiβ¦ yahaβ¦ yeh donoβ¦β Rudra stumbled on his words while Aryan glanced at him
(Ewwβ¦ hereβ¦ these twoβ¦)
βShh mat bolβ¦ chall kisi se bol kar yeh kamra theek karwa dete hai.β He said and they both left from the room completely distracted from the purpose they were there for.
(Shh donβt speakβ¦ letβs go and get this room fixed by someone.)

Aaranyaβs POV
Two days have passed since our reception and today Yuvraj sent someone to take our measurements for the dress we all will wear at his coronation ceremony.
I walked into the hall where maa sa, kaki sa and dadi sa were already sitting and talking.
Just then Rudra came downstairs and was leaving for his office when maa sa stopped him.
βRudra betu kuch kha kar toh ja.β She said while quickly walking towards the dining table and plating a paratha in a plate.
(Son leave after eating something.)
βMaa jaake kuch kha lunga abhi nahiβ¦β He tried to make excuses and walk out but Maa sa firmly made him sit on the couch and began feeding him bites after bites till the plate got finished.
(Mom ill eat something there not now.)
Looking at how motherly she was and how much she cared about her children a smile touched my lips but my heart felt empty.
My mother never did that.
She never even noticed me.
She considered me bad luck.
And she is the reason I was gone for years.
My heart ached at the thought⦠I am not jealous but just empty.
I never got to feel this love. The motherly warmth was absent from my heart.
Instead of going towards where they all were sitting I walked out of the door towards the garden.
I sat on a bench under a big shady tree, while finally tears slowly ran down my cheeks.
For years I have tried to ignore this ache, but how could someone forget a part of life she never got to live.
I was too lost in my thoughts that I didnβt realised maa sa was sitting next to me.
As soon as my gaze fell on her I quickly wiped my tears and smiled βKya hua maa ji aap yaha. Mere se kuch kaam tha?β I asked my voice still hoarse
(What happened mom you are here. Do I need to do something?)
She looked at me for another second making me confused.
βKya hua baccha?β She asked softly.
(What happened sweetie?)
I shook my head not wanting to burden her with the heaviness βKuch nahi maa sa.β
(Nothing mom)
βBeta kisi se bhi chupa sakti hai, apni maa se nahi.β She said softly while caressing my head lovingly.
(Sweetie you can hide it from anyone but not your mother.)
I melted under her touch but the word βmaaβ hit me with more force than expected. βMaaβ¦β I started my voice slightly hoarse with emotion.
(Mother)
βPata hai aapko, bachpan mai Veer bhai sa se aksar puchi karti thi mai ki maa sa jaisa priyal aur baaki sabko pyaar kari hai waise mujhe kyu nahi. Us wakt kuch samjh nahi aata tha aur jaise dheere β dheere samjh aane laga toh meri yaadash chali gayi.β I spoke, my voive low and small as I wandered back to my childhood.
(You know, when I was a child I used to ask veer bhai sa a lot that why doesnβt mom loves me like she loves Priyal and others. That time I didnβt understood much but as slowly understanding started to dawn on me I lost my memories.)
βKabhi maa ka pyaar mila nahiβ¦ aur aaj tak unki mamta khoj rahi hu.β A tear drop fell down my cheeks as I wiped it and covered it with a smile.
(I never got mothers love⦠and till date I am searching for its warmth.)
Maa sa looked at me with love βBacchaβ¦ bachpan ki kami toh puri nahi kar sakti par tum ho toh meri beti na toh pyaar bhi maa se badhkar karungi.β She said with love and took me in a warm hug as I cried and ranted about life to her.
(Kiddo⦠I cannot complete the emptiness of your childhood but you are my daughter so I would love you move than a mother can.)
